Puppy Mill Update: May 29, 2008

We watch as their knees give out with every step, as their blackened, rotting teeth fall from their mouths.  We worry about their hearts that beat irregularly, and we concern ourselves with the growing masses that spawn from their over-bred bodies.  We know them, and now they know us.  We are in each others' hearts!  And so it seems inconceivable that any of these dogs could be forced back into that horrendous "factory farming" life style, producing puppies for sale, with no regard for the welfare of the breeding dogs or the future puppies.
We cannot let that happen!

It has been 52 days since we rescued 121 dogs from a Tarpon Springs puppy mill on April 7, 2008, yet to date, no criminal charges have been filed against Teresita Hughes, the owner of the puppy mill.  It is time to let the State Attorney's office know how we feel about this situation, and how adamant we are that Teresita Hughes NEVER be allowed to do this again to another dog.

If you believe Teresita Hughes should be prosecuted for animal abuse, please write to the State Attorney's office and let them know how you feel.  Tell them you want Teresita Hughes of 339 Ranch Rd. Tarpon Springs to be "prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."  You have a voice and the State Attorney's office will listen.
